Your period in MAX analytics: calendar "Your dates" on datool.ru

On datool.ru you can set your own period: calendar "Your dates" on the dashboard of the MAX channel, in all tabs and in "Mine in MAX". Quick periods, manual date entry, comparison with the previous segment of the same length.

On datool.ru it is now possible to specify your period. Next to the ready-made options "7 days · 30 days · 90 days · Year · All the time" there is now a button "Your dates" with a calendar icon. It opens a window where the beginning and end of the period are selected in the same calendar, and all MAX channel statistics are recalculated exactly for these days.

Why it's needed: ready-made periods are convenient for a daily look, but real tasks rarely coincide with them. The advertising campaign ran from the 3rd to the 17th, the holiday weekend took four days, the client needs a report for the quarter. With the "Own dates" calendar, you don't have to figure it out by eye — you see subscribers, views, coverage and engagement exactly for the right segment and compare it with the same segment before it.

Where there are "Own dates"

The calendar is the same for the entire site and looks the same everywhere — the last tab in a series of periods.

  • Channel dashboard. The main numbers, charts of audience growth, views and engagement — for example, on the page of the channel "Krasnodar News".
  • Channel page tabs. "Audience Analysis", "Mentions", "Popular", "Publication coverage", "Publication Schedule", "Advertising statistics", "Similar channels" and "Subscriber Engagement" — each has its own number of periods and its own calendar.
  • The "All messages" feed. Channel posts for selected days with totals on the right.
  • "Mine is at MAX." "Overview", "My Channels", "Following", "Favorites", "Closed Channels", "All Events" and the tracked word page.

How to choose a period

  1. Click "Your dates" at the end of a number of periods — the "Period Selection" window will open.
  2. On the left are quick periods: yesterday and today, last and current week, the last three months, quarters I–IV of the current year, the last three years, the last 30, 90 or 365 days and "All the time". The quick period is applied immediately, with a single tap.
  3. On the right is a calendar. The first click on the day sets the beginning, the second — the end; if the second day is earlier than the first, the dates will change places themselves. The third click starts the selection again, and clicking on the month name selects the entire month.
  4. Dates can also be entered manually in the start and end fields in the format DD.MM.YYYY.
  5. Click "Apply" — the page will update the data without reloading. "Cancel", clicking past the window or Esc closes the window unchanged.

Only the days for which data is available are available in the calendar — from the first date to today; the rest are disabled. The weekends of the week are highlighted in color to make it easier to count the week.

Detailing and pitch of graphs

The graphs themselves select the pitch of the points for the length of the selected segment:

  • up to 31 days — a point for every day;
  • up to 120 days — by week, from Monday;
  • longer — by months.

On the "Audience Analysis" tab at the bottom of the window there is also a "Detail" line: you can leave "auto" or manually select — by day, by week or by month. So a long period can be considered in detail, and a short one can be reduced to weeks.

Comparison with the previous period

Changes on the dashboard and in the "Audience Analysis" are considered to the previous segment of the same length, which goes right before the selected one. If you choose 10 days, the comparison will be with 10 days before them; if you choose one day, it will be with the previous day. So the percentages of growth and decline are honest: a short period does not compare with a long one.

Blocks that are based on posts (the best publications, formats, time of release, advertising, mentions) take into account only posts until the end of the last day of the selected segment — fresh publications do not fall into the previous period.

On the phone and in a dark theme

On the computer and tablet, the window opens under the button, and the "Apply" button always remains on the screen. On the phone, the calendar leaves the panel at the bottom in full width, and fast periods become a scrollable line above it. The window works in light and dark themes, the colors of the site.

Who can access "Their dates"

  • The guest sees the dashboard in 7 days.
  • After free registration, another "30 days" period opens.
  • All ready-made periods and the "Own Dates" calendar are open to Premium and Business subscribers.
  • The owner of a confirmed channel sees all ready-made periods on his channel page.

The "All messages" feed has its own rules: its ready—made periods — from "Today" to "All the time" — are now open to everyone, and "Own dates" are by subscription. Without a subscription, the calendar button is shown with a lock and leads to the pricing page. "Premium" costs from 1,490 rubles, "Business" — from 4,990 rubles for 30 days. For more information about what is open at each level, see the article "What is visible without logging in, after logging in and by subscription."

Who is it useful for

  • Advertisers — to see how the channel behaved on the days of placement and immediately after.
  • Channel owners — to evaluate the effect of a contest, collaboration, or format change.
  • Agencies and analysts — to collect a report for a calendar month or quarter, and not for the "last 30 days".

Frequent questions

Is it possible to select a period that started earlier than the channel got into datool.ru ?

The calendar shows the days for which we have data. The channel's posts have been collected throughout history, and we started counting subscribers from the first channel survey, so the early days may be empty on the subscriber chart.

Why is the period shortened to a year when sorting the feed by pageviews?

In the "All messages" feed, sorting "By views" and "By reactions" works for the last 12 months, even if a longer period is selected. The results on the right remain for the entire selected segment.

Is the selected period saved?

Dates are recorded in the address of the dashboard page, so you can add it to bookmarks. When you click on the finished period tab, your dates are reset.

Is it possible to choose one day?

Yeah. Click on the desired day and immediately "Apply" or select "Yesterday" or "Today" in the quick periods. The comparison will be with the previous day.
