MAX channel dashboard: ten main numbers, charts and comparison

Updated the MAX channel dashboard to datool.ru : ten tiles with graphs — subscribers, views, coverage, ERR, ER, advertising, — honest comparison with the previous period, audience growth and Quality index in words.

We have updated the dashboard — the first tab of the page of any MAX channel on datool.ru . There are now ten "Main Numbers" tiles at the top: subscribers, views, reactions, mentions, reposts, average post coverage, ERR, ER engagement, posts per day and advertising share. Each tile has a number, a change to the previous same period, and its own small schedule. Below are the major blocks: audience growth, Quality index, views and coverage, engagement, Citation index, publication time and formats.

Why it is necessary: in half a minute to understand how the channel lives — it grows or loses subscribers, how many people see the average post, whether readers react and how many ads are in the feed. Previously, you had to scroll through several tabs to do this. To see how it looks, you can use the example of the channel "Krasnodar News" — the main tiles for 7 days are open without registration.

Ten tiles of "Prime Numbers"

The tiles stand directly on the background of the page, in two rows of five, without a common frame — so they are easier to grasp with a glance. The first row is about volume, the second is about quality.

  • Subscribers. How many subscribers the channel has now and how the number has changed over the period. The change is considered to be the beginning of the period.
  • Views. How many views are there now for posts published during the period. These are not "views per day": MAX does not report how many people watched yesterday.
  • Reactions. How many reactions were collected by the posts of the period.
  • Mentions. How many times the channel has been mentioned by other channels with a link or a repost, without advertising posts.
  • Reposts. How many times other channels have reposted channel posts.
  • Average coverage of the post. How many views one post gets on average. It is counted for posts older than two days: fresh views are still growing.
  • ERR. What proportion of subscribers sees the average post: average reach of the average subscribers × 100%.
  • ER involvement. How often readers react: reactions - views × 100%.
  • Posts per day. How many publications are published on average per day.
  • The share of advertising. What part of the posts looks like advertising and what kind of load is it — low, moderate, high or very high.

Each tile has a hint "i": what does the number mean, how to read the graph and what is the comparison.

Smooth lines and different diagrams

We purposely did not draw ten identical graphs. Subscribers and reactions are a smooth "wave" with a fill that melts down: the color is thicker at the line, more transparent at the bottom. Views are columns, mentions are circles of different sizes, reposts are steps. ERR is a line at the points of the period, and the dotted line next to it is the ERR of the past of the same period. Posts per day — cells: the darker, the more publications. The advertising share is a scale of four zones with a channel label.

The lines go from edge to edge of the tile, with no void on the sides. Move the cursor over the chart — the day, week, or month will be highlighted and the date will appear. If the number does not fit in the tile, it is reduced: for example, "9.7 billion" views, and the full value is visible in the tooltip.

The points on the charts depend on the period: for 7 and 30 days — days, for 90 days — weeks, for the year and the whole time — months.

Comparison with the previous period is fair

Next to the number there is a change bar: green — growth, red — fall, gray without arrow — unchanged. For percentages (ERR, ER, ad share), the difference is written in percentage points. The growth in the share of advertising is marked in red: for the reader this is a minus.

An important detail is how the amounts are compared. The current period has not ended yet: "7 days" at 10 am is six full days and ten hours today. If you compare the amount of posts or views "as is", in the morning any channel would look falling. Therefore, the change in amounts is considered to be on average per day: 640 posts in 6.4 days versus 700 in 7 days — "unchanged". The numbers themselves and the string "was ..." remain real sums.

The comparison is shown only if we have statistics for the entire past period. "All the time" has no comparison.

Blocks under tiles

  • Audience growth. The subscriber line, and below it the increase and decrease by day in green and red columns. Above the chart is the largest increase and the largest decrease with dates.
  • Quality index. Rating from 0 to 100 from five parts — audience, honesty of growth, advertising load, trust and reliability of calculation. Each part now displays words based on channel data, for example, "low: advertising in 3% of posts", points and a color bar. At the bottom is the advice that will raise the rating the most. How the index is considered is in the Quality index methodology.
  • Views and coverage. Views by points of the period with a signed record and the average coverage of the post.
  • Subscriber engagement. ER by dots and dotted lines — ER for the entire period.
  • Citation Index. How often and by what channels the channel is mentioned, the level among similar ones and the place in MAX (as it is considered).
  • When and how much he publishes — the "day of the week × hour" heat map and the best time for the post; publication formats — shares of reposts, videos, photos, links and text and the average coverage of each format.

The blocks of the same row are aligned in height, the graphs are stretched to the free space — there are no empty strips at the bottom of the cards. On the phone, the tiles stand two in a row, the graphs remain at the same height.

What is open without a subscription

The dashboard opens in 7 days. Above it is a switch "7 days · 30 days · 90 days · Year · All the time · Your dates".

  • Guest (without entrance) — 7 days period: main tiles, audience growth, Quality index, views and coverage, engagement, Citation Index, publications by day.
  • After free registration — periods up to 30 days and part of the detailed blocks.
  • The channel owner who confirmed the channel through the bot sees the dashboard of his channel for any period for free.
  • A Premium subscription (starting from 1,490 rubles) or a Business subscription (starting from 4,990 rubles) opens everything in 30 days, including your dates and comparison with the market. Fare comparison is available on the rates page.

Closed tiles and blocks are not hidden: in their place is a blurry example on fictitious data marked "Available after login" or "Available by subscription". There are no real channel numbers in the closed block.

Advice

If you are the owner of the channel, confirm it with the "I am the owner of the channel" button in the header of the page. The dashboard of your channel will be available for any period, and the Quality index will increase the "Trust" part.

How to try

  1. Open the MAX channel directory and find the channel by name, @name, or link.
  2. On the channel page, the first tab is "Dashboard". Look at the tiles for 7 days.
  3. Move the cursor over the tile graph — the number for the day will appear.
  4. Switch to 30 days (after free registration) so that the weekly pattern does not turn out to be random.
  5. Press "i" at the tile if it is not clear what the number means.

If the channel you need is not in the catalog, you can add it via the link.

Frequent questions

Why are there fewer views on the dashboard than in MAX itself?

We show views of posts published during the selected period — as many as they have now. Old posts continue to gain views, but they do not get into the period. The average coverage is considered only for posts older than two days, so that fresh posts do not underestimate the number.

Why doesn't the channel look "falling" in the morning, even though the period hasn't ended yet?

The change in the amounts — posts, views, reactions — is compared on average per day. The incomplete current period is divided by its present length, the past by its own, and the arrow is placed on the average.

How often are the numbers updated?

Large channels are updated every few minutes, small channels are updated once a day. At the bottom of the dashboard, you can see the time when the data was updated.

Can I watch the dashboard for free?

Yeah. The main tiles and blocks are open for 7 days without registration, after free registration — up to 30 days. The owner who confirmed the channel sees his dashboard for any period for free.

The result

The new dashboard collects the main information about the channel on one screen: ten tiles with graphs, an honest comparison with the previous period and blocks with explanations in words. Open any channel from the MAX directory and see for yourself. A detailed description of each block can be found in the documentation.
